The second inter-state cooperation council’s meeting opens in Baidoa

The second conference of the heads of Somalia’s federal states opens today at Baidoa, the interim capital of Southwest state.

This meeting comes amid political drift between the federal government of Somalia and the federal member states on the Gulf crises.

President Madoobe and Gaas who both visited Dubai, UAE’s capital last week accused the federal of government of double standards in the Gulf crises.

Jubbaland president stated that his administration is against the neutrality position taken by the federal government and supports the UAE-Saudi led block.

Also, Puntland president Abdiweli stated that no one could fill the position vacated by the UAE.

The second meeting of the inter-state cooperation council will be discussed on the political rift between the federal member states and the federal government, constitutional reviews, floods among others.
